I don’t believe lichen sclerosus is managed by fear, extremes, or guessing. I believe it’s managed by understanding what actually drives inflammation, protecting the skin properly, and using the right tools at the right time, not forever, not blindly. Most people struggle not because they’re doing nothing, but because no one ever explained why things work, when they stop working, and what really matters between flares. This project exists to close that gap.
Alex Force is the founder of Lichen Sclerosus Journal, an independent educational project focused on practical, phase aware management of lichen sclerosus. His work bridges clinical guidelines, immunology, and real world experience to explain why treatments work, when they fail, and how daily habits influence long term outcomes.
Rather than promoting one size fits all solutions, Alex emphasizes inflammation control, intelligent steroid use, barrier protection, and mechanical stress reduction, explained in plain language for people who want clarity, not fear. His goal is to help readers move from constant flares and confusion toward stability, predictability, and confidence, while building better long term tools for maintenance and skin protection.
